A Few Things To Keep In Mind

Understand What Voltage Tells You

Voltage is one of the clearest indicators of your battery’s current state of charge. On your Lectric eBike you can monitor voltage directly on the display. As you ride, voltage naturally drops. A sudden dip under load (like climbing a hill) is normal, but consistently low resting voltage can signal it’s time to recharge.

Don’t Drain to Zero

While it’s tempting to squeeze out every last mile, regularly draining your battery to 0% can reduce long-term capacity. Aim to recharge when your battery reaches around 20–30%.

This helps preserve lithium-ion cell health and ensures you’re never stuck pedaling a heavier bike home. When in doubt, remember the 80/20 charging rule.

What’s the 80/20 charging rule?

Lithium-ion batteries perform best when they aren’t pushed to full extremes. For everyday use, aim to keep your charge between 20% and 80% rather than draining to zero or charging to 100% each time.

Plug in before your battery dips below 20%, and unplug around 80% for daily rides. This helps reduce heat and internal stress, preserving long-term capacity and range.

Reserve a full 100% charge for longer trips or occasional calibration. With smart charging habits, your battery will deliver reliable performance and more miles over time.

Charge Smart

Use the charger designed for your specific model and plug in at room temperature whenever possible. Extreme heat or cold can affect performance and voltage readings. After a long ride, let the battery cool before charging.

Store With Care

If you’re not riding for a while, store your battery at roughly 50–70% charge in a dry, temperate space. Periodically check voltage during storage to make sure it doesn’t dip too low.

With mindful voltage monitoring and smart charging habits, you’ll maximize range, performance, and the overall lifespan of your eBike battery—so every charge truly goes the distance.
